In a newly announced Series A funding round, the publicly traded corporation served as the sole lead investor, committing 25.3 million US dollars to the software venture. Alongside the capital injection, both companies entered into a five-year exclusive cooperation agreement. The deal is designed to connect supply chain operations directly with digital jobsite records.
Residential construction has long suffered from fragmented records and siloed communication across project phases. Architects, general contractors, specialized trades, and material suppliers frequently operate on conflicting revisions of CAD files, spec sheets, and delivery receipts. Outdated documentation routinely triggers costly misorders, structural rework, and extended delays on active jobsites. The collaboration aims to eliminate these friction points by establishing a single automated source of truth.
Digs utilizes a proprietary stack combining specialized computer vision models and large language models to interpret complex construction files. The software scans architectural blueprints, material lists, engineering specifications, and subcontractor submittals without requiring manual data entry. By cross-referencing these inputs, the platform generates an interactive living digital twin of the structure. This living record continuously adapts as new blueprints or field modifications are uploaded throughout the build cycle.
For Builders FirstSource, the partnership integrates software intelligence directly into its national distribution and procurement network. When jobsite plans shift or material requirements change, the connected system helps align order schedules with local inventory and delivery logistics.
