Sports technology company XbotGo has announced a major nationwide retail partnership with US electronics retailer Best Buy. Under the agreement, the company's AI-powered game-tracking cameras will become available in more than 220 Best Buy stores across the United States. The move is designed to make autonomous tracking technology, historically limited to professional teams, accessible to grassroots sports and youth development academies.
The XbotGo camera platform relies on computer vision algorithms and on-device edge AI to capture athletic competitions automatically. The system follows the action across the field or court without requiring a human camera operator. This enables amateur clubs, schools, and trainers to record high-quality match footage without dedicating extra personnel to filming.
From a technical perspective, the platform supports more than ten different sports, including soccer and basketball. The underlying vision models are trained to track fast ball movements, player shifts, and tactical positioning reliably throughout a match. Because processing happens directly on edge hardware, the setup maintains low latency and functions effectively even without high-speed internet connections at the pitch.
Beyond automated filming, the system delivers instant video analysis features for coaching staff. The software automatically tags key match events and compiles highlight packages for players and trainers. These automated tags streamline post-match reviews and support targeted feedback during youth training sessions.
Expanding into more than 220 physical Best Buy locations represents a significant commercial milestone for consumer-facing sports AI hardware. By securing prominent shelf space in major retail stores, XbotGo is targeting coaches, parents, and community clubs looking for accessible match analytics. The rollout highlights how edge computer vision is progressively automating standard workflows in amateur and youth athletics.
