Airing on channel 300 of The Roku Channel, the free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) service broadcasts a continuous 24/7 lineup composed entirely of artificially generated content. The broadcast slate features short films, episodic series, cartoons, and synthetically produced advertisements made without physical film sets or traditional crews.
The initiative is spearheaded by Fairground Entertainment under Colin Petrie-Norris, who previously co-founded the streaming platform Xumo. To supply the continuous broadcast, the company relies on a curated network of approximately 100 prompt creators and digital production houses. Contributing artists and outfits include Phantom X Studio and Kelly Boesch, whose synthetic imagery and animations are sequenced for linear viewing.
The launch has triggered substantial cultural critique across mainstream publications such as The Guardian and Time Out. Reviewers and columnists have highlighted persistent uncanny valley effects, pointing out unnatural facial expressions and awkward motion physics that degrade the viewing experience.
