Vienna-based ConTech startup reebuild has completed a 3 million euro seed financing round to expand its software platform. The round was led by European venture capital firm Fortino Ventures, marking a targeted investment into the digital modernization of the construction sector. Additional backing came from Rise PropTech Fund, Curiosity VC, and the Hansmann Family Office. The newly raised capital is intended to accelerate the development of an artificial intelligence operating system designed specifically for administrative and commercial construction processes.
The investment addresses persistent back-office inefficiencies across the construction and real estate development industries. Commercial workflows in contracting firms remain heavily reliant on paper documentation, manual data entry, and fragmented spreadsheets. Delivery notes, receipts, and contractor invoices frequently arrive late or incomplete, making active budget tracking across complex job sites difficult. reebuild focuses specifically on this friction, offering software designed to eliminate manual paperwork through automated document processing.
At the core of the platform are vertical AI models tailored to the specific formatting and terminology of construction documentation. On-site foremen and project managers can photograph material receipts or delivery slips directly using a smartphone. The system then processes these images, alongside incoming vendor invoices, on a line-by-line basis to extract relevant line items accurately. This automated data extraction removes the need for office personnel to manually transcribe order quantities, item descriptions, and pricing details.
Beyond standard optical character recognition, reebuild reconciles parsed document details directly against established procurement and purchase order data. This automatic matching flags discrepancies between ordered materials, delivered goods, and billed amounts without requiring manual review. Consequently, downstream approval workflows can be executed more rapidly while reducing payment errors. The integration also supports real-time project cost tracking, providing project managers with clear visibility into expenditures as construction progresses.
The backing from specialized PropTech and early-stage investors including Fortino Ventures, Rise PropTech Fund, Curiosity VC, and the Hansmann Family Office signals growing confidence in domain-specific artificial intelligence. While horizontal foundation models often struggle with complex construction invoices, reebuild targets precise operational tasks bridging the field and the accounting department. With its seed funding in place, the Viennese startup plans to broaden its deployment across construction firms seeking to automate paper-heavy back-office operations.
