AI infrastructure requirements are shifting rapidly as facility capacities expand. According to NVIDIA, AI factories are currently growing "from megawatts to gigawatts," meaning that constructing them now "takes more than advanced computing." As power scales increase, developers must address broader design challenges beyond standalone processing hardware.
The chipmaker stated that shared design frameworks are essential to support this expansion, noting that open standards help operators "scale AI infrastructure faster, more efficiently and more reliably." In response to these demands, NVIDIA announced new industry partnerships and contributions during the Open Compute Project Global Summit. The event is taking place at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center.
