A new technology hub has been established in Yogyakarta through a collaboration between Indonesian authorities, telecommunications leadership, and tech partners. The initiative brings together the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, known as Komdigi, alongside Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, NVIDIA, and Universitas Gadjah Mada. Together, these entities officially introduced the UGM Indosat NVIDIA AI Technology Center to develop local capabilities.
According to the announcement, the facility is designated as the country's first university-based AI technology center. The center was established under Indonesia's broader AI Center framework as part of ongoing digital development plans. The joint project marks an institutional effort among public, private, and academic stakeholders to steer domestic artificial intelligence developments.
