OpenAI has showcased a technical demonstration featuring an MIT researcher working with artificial intelligence systems. According to the release, the academic uses GPT-5.6 Sol in combination with Codex. The integrated software setup is tasked to autonomously run quantum computing experiments directly on specialized hardware.
The operational scope of the implementation extends across multiple stages of the laboratory workflow. The models are tasked to analyze results generated from these computational tests. Additionally, the system is configured to calibrate qubits as part of the autonomous experimental cycle.
