Live sports broadcasting is entering a new phase of automation driven by coordinated software agents. Ahead of the IBC 2026 industry convention, media technology provider Dalet announced a major project within the IBC Accelerator Innovation Program. The initiative focuses on deploying agentic AI orchestration across live sports workflows, streamlining operations from capture to real-time delivery.
The project brings together a consortium of international broadcast networks and major technology providers. Participants include cloud providers AWS and Google Cloud, media companies ITV, Astro Malaysia, and MBC, as well as IT consultancy Tata Consultancy Services. Together, these organizations are testing how autonomous AI agents can manage complex live media pipelines without requiring constant manual intervention.
At the core of the deployment is Dalet's AI platform, Dalia, which serves as the central orchestration layer. The platform coordinates specialized AI sub-agents capable of ingesting live feeds, conducting real-time game analysis, and generating production-ready assets simultaneously. This architecture allows media teams to automate repetitive packaging tasks while the main broadcast is still on air.
A primary application being explored is the creation of hyper-personalized streaming experiences, dubbed meCast. Rather than delivering a single, uniform broadcast cut to all viewers, the system can automatically assemble dynamic highlight packages, statistics, and graphical overlays tailored to individual audience preferences. Viewers can receive targeted clip reels focusing on specific athletes or distinct tactical angles as the match unfolds.
Broadcasters involved in the initiative are targeting substantial efficiency gains across operational workflows. Traditional real-time highlight clipping and multi-platform distribution across social media and OTT channels historically demand significant human staff and manual steps. Agent-driven orchestration allows content to be indexed, clipped, and distributed within seconds of on-field action occurring.
The collaborative proof of concept will be demonstrated to industry stakeholders during the IBC 2026 exhibition. The project serves as a crucial testbed for determining how robustly multi-agent AI systems can perform under the high-pressure, latency-sensitive demands of live sporting events.
