Google DeepMind has announced a genomic project known as AlphaGenome Atlas. According to the organization, the system operates as a dedicated predictive map for genetic variations. Specifically, the initiative documents how individual base modifications impact biological processes at a molecular scale.
The dataset addresses a massive catalog of alterations across the genetic code. The initiative establishes that "AlphaGenome Atlas maps the molecular effects of 9 billion single-letter DNA variants across the human genome." By recording these nine billion individual variants, the project provides a structured overview of single-letter modifications.
